
EASTERN WHITE PINE:

One of the largest pine species in the United States. Noble in appearance and very picturesque. Needles are 21/2”-5” long, flexible, and blue-green to silver-green in color.
Pyramidal shaped and very dense when young (pruned). The foliage becomes more airy as the tree matures. A fast growing tree averaging two-plus feet per growing season.
Prefers rich moist soil and full sun, but also thrives in dry, well-drained soil.

Balsam is the most cold-hardy and aromatic of all firs. The tree is dense with dark green needles that have silvery-white bands underneath.
The needles are ½” to 1” with rounded points that are twisted, arranged in what looks like two rows.
Species thrives in cooler climates, demands abundant soil moisture, a humid atmosphere is desirable. Growth is best on well-drained, sandy loam soils that are somewhat acidic.
Species is shade tolerant.

Serbian Spruce grow in a pyramidal shape. Tree has flat, pointy, dark green needles up to 1" in length.
Tolerates most urban conditions but cannot tolerate salt.
Species thrives in acidic, loamy, moist, rich, sandy, well-drained and clay soils. Needs full sun and partial shade. Minimum of 4 hours direct sun
